Chocolate Banana Shake

This is a quick and easy shake that is filling yet healthy and easy to enjoy with a straw, allowing patients to bypass mouth sores that make eating difficult and painful. To thicken this drink, try adding some plain or vanilla yogurt. Another good addition is a bit of uncooked oatmeal, which lends texture and nutrition.


  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 medium banana, frozen. For ease of use, slice the banana before freezing it.
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Toss in a straw and enjoy!
