Dairy-Free Butterscotch Sauce

This delicious sauce is great for lactose-intolerant patients. Pour over ice cream, cakes, or any favorite dessert.


½ c. packed brown sugar

2 tsp. cornstarch

¼ c. non-dairy creamer

¼ c. water

1 tbsp. honey

1 tbsp. dairy-free margarine

½ tsp. vanilla


Mix sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Add creamer and water slowly, stirring until cornstarch is dissolved and there are no lumps. Add honey and margarine. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until sauce becomes thick and begins to boil. Remove from heat, then add vanilla. Serve and enjoy!
